I’ve never really used this method to read the breaks on the putting surface, but it seems to work. How do you use your putter to do this and why is is effective?
Plumb bobing gives you a vertical referance point to be able to visualize the planes and slopes of the green. Its an aid if you are not comfortable reading breaks and slopes with just your naked eye. Some breaks are so subtle that your eye may not pick them up…but with a Vertical straight line you may notice them and be able to factor that into your line calculations
