golf putters- my boyfriend said he needs a new golf putter. I know nothing about them. Help?!?

What are good brands….and what are the price ranges typically? I know nothing about golf what-so-ever. I just know that I want to get him a decent putter by a decent brand. Any suggestions or ideas would be wonderful and appreciated. thanks

Not only do you need to consider brand and price, you need to know if he prefers a blade or a mallet putter. Also what length of putter does he prefer? I suggest you take him shopping and let him try different ones or get him a gift card.

General Golf question 1 about Greens?

How do you READ a green? What are you looking at? What are you looking for?
I’m going to be a tad more specific. Although all the answer are great, here’s the crux of the situation. Can you really tell which way a green goes by "eyeballing" it with your putter? Maybe i’m just not getting and its been a while since i’ve truly "whacked the ball".

try plumb bobbing

hold your putter in front of you with 2 fingers on the top of the grip

line up the bottom blade with the ball

with your non-dominant eye closed start at the ball and slide up the shaft till you see the hole

your putt will break towards the side of the grip the hole is on

What is your opinion of Mizuno golf clubs?

I’m looking at getting a set of MX-19s. They seem like great clubs and I’ve read nothing but good reviews. I’m somewhat of a beginner, but I’ve found them for a great price.

I believe the MX-19 would be a great choice. The reason I’m saying this is I’m an ex tour professional and I played with 3 sets of Mizuno irons. The clubs that I played with are the Mizuno T-zoid Trues, Mizuno MP-29′s and the MP-33′s. These were forged and blade irons, and were wonderful clubs to play with throughout my tour career, and I stand behind them 100%. I think the MX-19′s would be a perfect choice for a beginner, because they are very forgiving. In the past 10 years, Mizuno have been among the most used irons on tour for good reason.

a rather random golf question. what is the average weight of a golf putter?

i was wondering what the approximate weight for a golf putter is?
it doesnt need to be the exact weight. i just need it for some calculations involved in my physics assignments

depends on what putter you have of course, if it a "blade" putter, the head can be from 500-750g probally, if you add the shaft into that, then probally looking at roughly 1kg-1.5kg, then a "mallet" putter probally has a head from 750g-1kg, and the shaft another 500g-750g on top of thatdo looking at roughly 1.5kg-2kg.

And which one is the best out of these in terms of distance and accuracy.

i suggest the cg gold for a little forgiveness if you are a high handicapper, if you want a little more of a blade like iron, a players iron, go for the cg red theyre great irons. have hit all and prefer the cg reds.
