I am a 5’2" woman, 45 years old. Detail the type of golf clubs I should get?

I am a 45 year-old female just taking up golf. I am 5′ 2". I want a graphite set, necessary clubs only, with a stand bag. I am comfortable buying a used set through eBay or Amazon. Should I buy a petite set? What else do you recommend? I plan on practicing and playing for the rest of my life. Thanks!

I have friend who is about your height. She has the Ping Irons with Orange Dot. She uses Cobra LDM Series Driver and Woods.

It is best if you go to a golf store or take lessons and let a pro tell you which and what size clubs are best for you. Some golf stores have used clubs that you can buy.

Looking for a source of objective golf instructor reviews (not golf schools) particularly in the L.A. area.?

That would be a GREAT idea… for someone to create forum/blog independently hosted with anonymous user ratings, kind of like eBay feedback. Golf instructors are typically under-qualified in my opinion. There are merely a handful that really worth their salt. One acid test I use is whether the instructor has a grasp that golf cannot be explictly "taught"… the learning, for any player, comes thru self-discovery and experience. The instructor’s role is to convey WHAT needs to happen in a cause/effect fashion, but there are numerous ways to "implement" a given what. And more over, the verbage rarely translates into "feel". You can’t explain "feel"… but rather guide a student to constructively acquire feel thru guidance. Finally, I feel instruction RARELY touches on the mental aspect of both playing and learning. What constitutes good practice?? How to play under pressure… My list of rants goes on and on… so YES, I think an objective reviewing source would be fantastic. Other comments?

how much would a golf putter and a nine iron be ?

new or used? What brand? I saw putters on "sale" this week for $199. Or you can get one for $50. Or you can get a used one on ebay for who knows.

its winter in minnesota, i sold a golf putter on ebay, where would i get a box i can ship the club in?

Find a UPS store. Check online to find the closest one. The will give full reimbursement value if the item is lost or damaged, on anything they package for you.

Women’s used golf putter, on line?

Where can I find women’s golf putters on line? I would order it lightly used or new depending on the price?

try ebay, direct golf, american golf.

It would be better for you to go to a pro shop near you and try out some putters. The pro will be able to help you will the correct putter that could well take a few strokes off your game

Where can I find a cheap but good acoustic guitar and cheap golf clubs. Trying to start something new.?

I’m 15 years old and I’m trying to start some new things in my life like playing golf and playing the guitar. The only problem is idk where to get some of this stuff. I’m trying to get most of this stuff for cheap because I don’t have that much money to spend. So where can I find most of this, if anybody can answer this they would be a big help.

go for knockoff irons type in google like knock off titleist or knockoff callaway, and you can find some irons that are just like the real name brands but cheap or you can go on ebay. Wilson is a good beginning brand which is cheap.

Do i need a golf putter headcover?

I have a headcover for my driver, woods and hybrids and was wondering if i needed to get one for my putter?

Well not only would be protecting your putter, which could be the most expensive club in your bag….BUT also you would be protecting your other clubs as well. Because the putter is soo short, typically, that metal head banging around on the graphite shafts of the other most expensive clubs in your bag…the Driver and metal woods. This could be game over if your were to get a significant ding in a graphite shaft. If you can’t find the right head cover, go to Ebay…they have ‘em all it seams. But I think the are well worth it ! $250 putter + $300 driver shaft…….

How do you determine the authenticity of a vintage Wilson 8802 golf putter (ie grip, shaft, head)?

Man that is a real tough one. The 8802 was produced for so many years and the design basically did not change.

I think I’m fairly certain when I tell you this though. No 8802 is worth a whole lot. This is due to the fact that Wilson made a putter prior to the 8802 that is collectible.

This is just from my head, but I’m almost positive the 8813 is the collectible Wilson putter. I don’t know how to identify that putter either, but I do know they can be worth in the hundreds in good condition.

You can search on ebay and see what you can find out as far a prices go.

What are the best set of golf clubs for a golf coach?

I was hired as a golf coach at a school. I have played maybe 5 rounds of golf my whole life. I need a set of clubs that will at least make me look like I know what I am talking about. What is the best set of clubs I can buy that won’t leave me broke?

I’d look on ebay for some irons. You can probably get a great set of older Titleists or Pings for under $200.

And just do what our HS golf coach did, tell your kids to "Swing only with your left hand for 100 shots, then only with your right for the next 100"

Haha, pretty lame, but it actually does work to an extent.
