Most of the tests that you go through in golf are similar to the tests you face in life, and golf will reveal many of your true-life strengths and weaknesses (concentration, desire, coolness under pressure, tendency to rush through things, getting along with people, strength/weakness in the early part/middle part/late part of the game, ability to finish a round strongly etc etc.).
Most of all, its a game that tests your adaptability. How you respond to different situations, and even how much it takes for you to recognise a situation as being different, or requiring subtle changes in your approach.
