There are a mind-blowing number of choices of equipment used in golf today. This indeed makes it much harder for golfers-especially amateurs-to know which products will best fit their individual games’ needs. The fact of the matter is that playing with golf clubs that do not fit a golfer’s particular needs and experience can produce more harm than good, both in terms of scoring and enjoyment.

According to the golf game’s rules a player cannot carry more than fourteen clubs during a game. Thus, most of today’s players do not carry more than this maximum permitted number.
There four basic types of golf clubs: Woods, Irons, Wedges, and Putters.

Woods are usually used to hit long golf shots. Standard woods that are carried in a golf bag are 1, 3, and 5 Woods. A 1 Wood is typically referred to as a ‘driver’. As the number of your wood increases (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) you lose the amount of distance it can go, but you gain a higher trajectory. Recent golf club technology has made higher lofted woods for shorter distances. A standard golfer’s bag will have a driver (1 wood) and a couple of fairway woods (3- and/or 5-wood). A driver is the longest club (typically 45 inches) making it the toughest to handle during a swing.

Iron clubs are mostly used for shots that are expected to go an average distance – typically from 125 to 200 yards. The lower the number iron, the less degree on the face of the club, hence, the farther the distance the ball will travel. On the other hand, the higher the number iron, the higher the degree on the face, and consequently, the loftier the shot will be.
An Iron features a thin clubhead with grooves on it. Experienced players opt for a blade style iron, while beginners get a cavity-back style. A blade-style has a clubhead with a full back, but a cavity back’s clubhead is hollow. It is hollowed out to make a perimeter weighting effect helpful for less-experienced golfers.
Irons are categorized as long (1, 2, 3,4), mid- (5,6,7) and short (8,9). Short irons are the easiest to hit while the long ones are the hardest. The shorter the iron, the more loft there is and for beginners, the more loft, the better.

The most popular irons used are 3 Irons and 9 Irons, however, many companies also manufacture 1 Irons as well as 10 Irons.

Wedges are used for semi-short shots. They are also used for chipping, and sand shots. There are several types of Wedges, including sand wedges, pitching wedges, and lob wedges. These are iron clubs and are used for games played on difficult grounds, and approach shots to the green.

A putter is a golf club that has a low loft. This enables the ball to roll farther. A putter is typically shorter than all of your other golf clubs. Putters are the clubs most regularly used in the game and come in clubhead styles of blade, heel-toe and mallet. Lengths come in belly putters, standard and broomstick (long) putters. Which selection to choose will be based on an individual preference.
Another popular type of golf club nowadays is the Hybrid club. The Hybrid club is a cross between the Iron and the Wood, and is made for people who have difficulty using these other types of clubs.

The physical capability of every golfer is different – stance, posture, size, swing characteristics etc yet golf manufacturers make golf clubs identical as an off-the-shelf product. However with a custom fit golf club in your hands you can be safe in the knowledge that your clubs are personalized for you and be sure that when you make a good swing the club will be square at impact and your shot should soar down the middle of the fairway.

The majority of golf clubs which you can purchase today can be customized to accommodate the individual differences between golfers. The lie angle/loft, type of shaft, length of shaft, grip type and grip size can be modified. All that is required to custom fit these clubs is some simple measurements and a basic analysis of your swing.

The following information is usually all that is required: gender, height, distance from the wrist to the floor, age, handicap/skill Level, and swing speed.

Gender is utilised as the golf industry in general utilises different definitions as to what the standard length is for both a male and a female.

Height and distance from wrist to floor is used jointly so that the fitter can determine the length of club which is best suited for you. For example a tall man with long arms could easily be fitted with a shorter shaft than an average height male with short arms. The majority of golfers however use standard length clubs.

The remainder of the measurements are used to determine what type of flex the shaft on your club should have.

The notion that the more costly the club the better it is purely doesn’t hold water anymore. If you do enough research and read reviews you’ll find a club that matches your degree of interest. Some play for a weekend activity and there are others who’d like to move up in the rankings. If the occasional pastime is your stride, a low- to mid-performance club can work for you. But those of you who intend to play more regularly should seriously consider custom, higher-performance clubs.

All the beginners at first feel frustrated playing this game. Really, looking at golf professionals we think, why, it’s so simple. I will learn to do it without big efforts’. But when you start, you understand that the game is rather complicated. This article is mainly devoted to the beginners, who need some good golf tips.

The First Experience

It may make you really upset. You are disappointed in your score, your putts are done badly, to put it mildly. You start to think you will never learn bunker play. Little by little, your mood is worsening, you lose sense of humor and, finally, you become so irritated that you want to swear out loud. Some mates who play with you may try to explain to you what is better to do. But such golf tips are not professional, and sometimes they are mutually contradictory. So, rely on yourself and start with following…

Some Golf Tips for the Beginners.

So, what to start with? No doubt, you need some good quality instruction at first. You should look for several instructors and talk to them. That is necessary, for you shouldn’t choose the first instructor you find, because his teaching style may not match your style of learning. That is why you need an opportunity to decide between two or more variants.

The next thing is attending series of lessons. One or two studies will not help. You need to practice under the direction of the instructor as long as possible. If you can’t afford it for this or that reason you may resort to self-education with the use of DVD’s and books, which also offer some useful golf tips. Nowadays there is also plenty information on how to learn to play golf on the Internet.

Appropriate equipment is also sufficient. First of all, it applies to the set of golf clubs you hit the ball with. You need different types of clubs for definite purposes during the game. The clubs should be qualitative and solid. It must be said, that a set of brand new clubs costs a lot, so you may buy some used clubs for the first time.

You should pay more attention to your pitching, putting and chipping than to the driver. And finally, you should have a mental game plan. It is important to realize that golf is a game where you should limit the amount of bad shots and enjoy the good ones.

In conclusion it should be said that following golf tips you are given will help you to determine your own counsel on how to play better. You will learn what you manage to do sumptuously and what your weak points are. You will be no more frustrated for you will know what exactly you should work on.

When you think about golfing, it isn’t just about the golf clubs and cart. It’s not even just about the right golf pants and top. When you are on the golf course, you also need to have the best golf sunglasses for the occassion.

Out on the golf course, the best golf sunglasses serve more than one function. It isn’t just about you being out there on the links, looking cool, trying to impress the drink cart girls with your sense of style. The golf sunglasses also protect your eyes from the harmful rays of the sun’s glare.

If you have just spent a small fortune on having the right golf clubs, equipment and collared shirts to be seen with to go with your expensive country club membership, then you may not want to pay the high prices that are usually attached to the big-name designer brands in the world of sunglasses. Just because Oakley, Bolle and NYX attach hefty price tags to their merchandise, does not mean that you have to purchase them, unless of course, you have to have them and don’t mind footing the bill.

Some of the best sunglasses, in this case, are the cheapest sunglasses. Cheap, though, doesn’t neccesarily mean poorly made, hence poor quality. It doesn’t have to be the very cheap products that you can purchase at the local convenience store.

Technologically advanced, inexpensive golf sunglasses can still be found and just as comfortable and stylish as the brands that costs hundreds of dollars. Even the inexpensive brands can still be produced with the lightweight polycarbonate materials that makes them barely noticeable once you are wearing them on your face. These type of golf sunglasses can still be accompanied by special attachments which loop the sunglasses around your ears, making it almost impossible for you to lose them from your face, whilst you have a good hard hack at the golf ball.

From a health perspective, the most important thing for your eyes is that wearing the best golf sunglasses gives you lenses that will block out 100 per-cent of the suns deadly ultraviolet rays. So when it comes to purchasing your next sunglasses, make sure to look out for glasses that block but UVA and UVB. The higher the nanometer rating, the better.

Getting the right sunglasses now, for your game of golf, to take care of your eyes, means that there will be less to worry about in later life from eye diseases such as cataracts or other eye conditions.

On the positive side, you will now find that you have saved more money, giving you more cash in your pocket to spend on golf balls, golf equipment, green fees and of course to buy drinks for those drink cart girls that you have been looking at through your great new sunglasses.

So, don’t forget, a brand name isn’t the be-all and end-all of golf sunglasses. Sometimes, it is just a name!

The electric golf trolleys have successfully replaced the old style golf trolleys that need to be tugged around, and more and more players and golf clubs are using electric golf trolleys today. An electric golf trolley is no longer a luxury and is considered as an indispensable item for the regular golfer. Even if you are a keen amateur, these trolleys can actually improve your performance by helping you to conserve your energy and focus more on your game.

Golf in the main is a gentle and, most of all, a very good sport for our bodies. Playing regularly provides the body with an overall work out, which in a short space of time is evident in our physical appearance. A number of health benefits from playing golf are discussed briefly in this article.

Combating the stresses and strains, Golf in the main is not too physically demanding on the body, but it does require the concentration levels to be high. This provides a great outlet from the everyday challenges we are faced with and can often be very therapeutic, with surrounding scenery and the fresh air helping to relieve tension.

In most places electric golf trolleys are fairly common and are almost the norm. These days you hardly ever see people walking the course, pulling on their traditional trolleys filled with golf accessories. However, over the years as golf has gained increasing popularity, now more and more people play golf. These electric golf trolleys are relatively fast and help to cover the course faster, thereby substantially reducing the wait time on the tee.

An electric golf trolley also contributes to your performance by helping you to maintain muscle control, balance and body symmetry throughout the entire game. Pushing or pulling a heavy trolley strains your muscles and people who pull their carts have the maximum chance of getting a back sprain. The ultimate result is that you fail to make the best strokes that might have got you a birdie.

If you want to give your best when you are on the greens then you definitely need an electric golf trolley. Golf is a game that requires players to constantly pay attention to the smallest detail and maintain high level of fitness. Wasting energy pulling your golf clubs can seriously affect your game.

These electric golf trolleys definitely help you to keep your strokes above par and out perform your competitors as it saves valuable energy and stress caused by walking the course and pulling your clubs along. . An electric Golf trolley, as the name suggests, is a battery operated automatic cart that could be either manual or remote control. It provides easy transportation of clubs from tee to green and allows a normal upright posture while walking. This reduces the risk of strains and injuries. This also provides added comfort and helps the golfer to concentrate on his swing.

Fortunately for us, these electric golf trolleys no longer cost you the earth and are actually affordable. There are many websites that sell electric golf trolleys, however you should always ensure that the trolley is safe and reliable and the buyer you are buying from is reputable.

Last night I stole a golf putter from someone’s house at a party. Should I return it or should I just keep it?
Ahh the classic stolen golf club dilemma, this is similar to Plato’s cave allegory. Should you stay in the dark (return the club) or come out to the light (keep it). And obviously Plato said that it is much better in the light for the light represents knowledge. In the word’s of Plato: "only homos return stolen golf clubs." My advice, and Plato’s, is to keep it. God speed.

As with any other sport to play golf you need to ensure that you have the correct equipment so that you can play golf correctly. Hopefully this article will provide you with a basic understanding as to what is required.

Basically, there are two main components to play golf – there are the golf ball and the golf clubs. The golf ball is not just a ball it is a scientifically designed piece of equipment. The dimples on a golf ball are designed so that there is less resistance in the air – if you look closely at different brands of golf ball the dimples are slightly different and it you count the dimples on a golf ball some balls have more than others. The inside of the golf ball is also different – this inside of the ball is normally determined by how much spin you want to be able to impart onto the ball, both in the air and upon contact with the ground.

There are numerous different varieties of golf clubs available at present, these are the driver, fairway wood, utility club sometimes also known as a hybrid club, irons, wedge and putter. Each of these different varieties has their relevant use on the golf course. For example the driver is the club which you use from the tee when you want to make a shot which goes a long way, the wedge is used for the short approach aspect of the game when you are coming into the green and of course the putter is used when you are on the green. Which club you decide to use for each shot is individual choice and can depend upon numerous things, game style, course style, ball lie, distance etc etc.

To make it easier to transport your golf clubs, both on and off the course you require something to carry them in. This is where the golf bag is used. The golf bag is used more than just for carrying your clubs however, it is also a piece of equipment which you use to protect your golf clubs. There are numerous varieties of golf bag available and the choice bag is down to both personal preference and requirements. For example if you will not be using a golf cart then a stand bag will probably be your requirement, however if you will be using a golf cart then it may be more beneficial to use a cart bag. The golf bag will protect your golf clubs from banging into each other and also protect the shafts against wear. The golf bag is of course able to carry other things other than your clubs, there are numerous pockets on the bag where you can put your golf balls, tees, drinks, waterproofs etc.

Another good item which is used to protect your golf clubs (normally your woods) is the golf head cover, this is a device which slides over the club and protect the club from damage.

If you are going to be playing on a golf course then you will need good grip. To facilitate this you will require a good quality set of golf shoes, Golf shoes are different to normal shoes as they have ‘spikes’ on them – these are so that you feet grip into the ground when you are making your swing. Slipping when you make your swing can have disastrous results – in some cases it can cause you to miss the ball altogether. These spikes come in all sorts of varieties, however soft spikes are the normal preference as they do not cause and damage to the greens when you walk on them. Golf shoes do more than just assist you in retaining your grip – the also give you the ability to keep your feet dry. When choosing a pair of golf shoes choose a pair which are sturdy, however they need to be comfortable as you could be walking a long way in them. If you do not feel comfortable in your shoes you will definitely not be able to concentrate on your game and could even do some damage to your feet.

You will require some tees. Tees are either made from wood or plastic and are used when you are teeing off on a hole. You balance the ball on the top of the tee and strike the ball from it rather than from the ground.

Most golfers tend to wear a golf glove. The golf glove is normally worn on the other hand to your ‘master hand’; therefore if you are right handed you would wear the glove on your left hand. The glove is there to prevent the club from slipping in your hand and assist you in getting a better grip on the club. There are various types of glove available, you need to ensure that the glove is a good fit and is like a secondary piece of skin.

When you play golf there is a lot of walking involved which is why a lot of golfers invest in a golf cart. There are 2 different varieties of golf cart available, there is the manual cart which you either push or pull and there is the electric cart which is driven by an electric motor. In your golf bag will be a lot of equipment and the bag can be heavy, it will also feel a lot heavier as the round goes on. When you use a golf cart you place the bag onto the cart and pull or push the cart along. This makes the round a lot less tiring and therefore a lot more enjoyable.

You can purchase golf equipment from various shops both online and offline. Golf equipment can be expensive to purchase initially, therefore if you are on a budget you can look into purchasing second hand equipment. The Internet is a fantastic resource for locating good equipment. All golf equipment is not alike, however which is why it is recommended that you investigate each product prior to purchase.
