Bird-X Gator Guard

Bird-X Gator Guard

Moving predator frightens birds and small animals away. Scare geese and other water birds with a realistic, floating alligator head. 25 threatening inches long; moves and bobs with the wind and water; life-like eyes flash in the light. Mirrored black eyes flash in the sun as the Gator bounces all around the pond. Geese think they’re being followed and can’t acclimate to a fixed patter. Effective worldwide – even where alligators don’t live – as this fear is instinctive not learned. Pests: geese, ducks, fish-eating birds, small animals, Uses: ponds, pools, koi ponds, golf courses, lakes, fish or shrimp farms, park districts, condominium complexes, and more.

How do I go about designing golf courses?

I believe my true calling in life is to design golf courses, or at least work with those who do the design of golf courses.
I have a background in Civil Engineering so I understand the importance of drainage and storm water detention.
Just wondering if anyone out there can give me a little direction.

Thanks in advance.

The design of a golf course requires collaboration between many disciplines. This involves mostly civil engineers and landscape architects.

As you stated, civil engineers are mainly responsible for designing the drainage of the overall site. They will also be responsible for land reclamation and geotechnical assessments.

On the other hand, the landscape architects are responsible for designing the contours of the site in order to tailor for the varying difficulties of the holes of the course, as well as the placement of lakes and trees.

Having said all that, I doubt that golf design companies directly employ civil engineers, rather they employ the landscape architects. They in turn offer contracts with consultancies for the design of the infrastructure, such as the drainage works and road access.

I might be wrong. I highly suggest you contact golf design companies: http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&source=hp&q=golf+course+designers&btnG=Google+Search&meta=&aq=f&oq=golf+course+designers&fp=d201e90ebf28d963

I hope this helps and I wish you the very best with your future career.

What type of lawnmowers did they use to use to mow golf putting greens before gasoline powered ones?

Ok here’s the thing: I play golf and there’s an open space of long grass by my house. I would like to mow myself a putting green, but I cannot afford a high end lawnmower for greens that golf courses use. They obviously use to use reel mowers at some point in the past and so I would like to know the type of reel mowers they use to use and attempt to buy one.

push mowers with rotating blades

this is newer version

The school can also help you maximize your distance off of the tee, no matter what is going on out on the green.

Tic Tac Putt

Tic Tac Putt

This unique putting game is a fun and entertaining game for two or four players of all ages. Played like tic-tac-toe, the object is to get three golf balls either across, up & down, or diagonally. What are some nice golf courses within 45 minutes of Kissimmee Fl. that are not too expensive with good greens?

I have played Black Bear several times over the past 10 years or so and every time I have played there the course has always been in pristine condition. It’s like they were expecting the PGA tour to come through. The fairways and greens were absolutely flawless.

The best part is that it is inexpensive.
