I’ve played putt-putt golf but never regular golf. I just saw something on TV that prompted this question. If you hit a ball, it seems you are allowed to pick it up, clean it, and place it back where it was before you take your 2nd swing. Would you be allowed to simply replace it with an identical, but clean, ball, rather than taking the time to clean it? If the answer is different for friendly games versus professional, please point that out.
I guess I would assume that friends can decide whatever they want. But then, from your experience, will friends allow it, or is it more that people simply don’t think of replacing the ball — they’d rather just wipe it off?
You finish the hole with the ball you started the hole with. Unless: (a)If the ball is damaged while playing the hole, ( and scuffs don’t count) you can announce to your competitors you have a damaged ball and intend to replace it. You can then replace the original with a new one. They have the right to inspect, though few ever do. That’s the rule. Friendly games may have their own rule.
(b) you lose it out of bounds or in a hazard. You would proceed under the rules for a drop or re-tee.
Pros play the "one ball" rule, also. You have to play the same model of the same brand. If you start out with Pro V 1X’s, you can’t switch to Pro V’s.
edit: in friendly games, alterations to the rules are made prior to teeing off. You can negotiate whatever you want. As long as all agree to play the same way, it would be fine. Rules are meant to define a format for all to play by. It is just a game. Unless you play in organized tournament golf, it is ok to play your own game.

or putt putt golf, can you please give a list so i can contact
Dude. I can totally do this for you!
I’m really tryna get with this girl I know at school(Community college), I’m very shy&she tends to be reserved,we’re both christian,I stay in North Dallas and she stays closer to downtown. Right now we both get around by using public transport(DART),she doesnt have her car from Missippi yet and I have a medical condition that prevents me from getting a drivers liscence.
My question is does anyone have any suggestions where to go? I’ve thought aboutr maybe Putt Putt golf and games and Main Event, but still not sure what else to possible do with her.
Suggestions please?
what about any of the museums downtown, or take a walk or jog down katy trail? main event is fun but overpriced. if you look at guidelive.com, there are a ton of things to do and it’s all in dallas. I’d suggest checking that out first, then find something where you can meet using the DART.
an average putt-putt/mini-golf place has about 18 holes. I don’t really know how big the entire area would be including a building for the snack bar/restrooms/register. Estimates please?
Putt-putt is just a kids putting area.
Miniature golf for many means golfing fairways, but each hole only 130 to 240 feet long. Each hole being a par 3 to chip and putt.
Best is to do your research by visiting a few putt-putt places near you, or Google them. You-Tube has some putt-putt golf holes. Some elaborate ones include machinery to carry the ball overhead. Others have windmills to putt under by timing the ball to miss the windmill blades.
Basic ones are as 6 to 12 yards long and 1.5 yards wide, carpeted sunk into concrete edges for the ball to ricochet off.
Multipy that by 18 holes and add coffee tables and office area and you can get an idea.
Good luck
