Hot? Fred Couples. Not? Phil Mickelson.
Hot
1. The Clambake. Perfect weather, a smashing new golf course, Sunday dramatics at Pebble, a compelling winner … it’s hard to imagine there will be a better non-major all year.
2. Match Play Wednesday. It’s one of my favorite days of the year, a sunrise-to-sunset day that is the ultimate physical and mental test. And that’s just for the viewers at home!
3. Freddy. It had been seven years since his last victory. And it’s 17 years since he was last a dominant player. It will be fun to see how deep he can take this. (But beware of TA3 …)
4. David Duval. He’s an enigma rolled in a mystery in wraparound sunglasses. If he can come back from the abyss to win again, it will be one of golf’s most amazing reinventions.
5. The LPGA. Another tournament is about to go on the schedule in Malaysia! and with the PGA Tour off to such a sluggish start this is a great chance for the women to steal some of the spotlight, beginning with this week’s season-opener in Thailand. Here’s the best part: with the new Golf Channel deal kicking in, we’ll actually get to see what happens over there.
Not
1. Paul Goydos. It’s mortifying to make a 9 on your local muni in front of a couple of buddies. To do so on national TV and give away a tournament in the process? Even the exceedingly glib Goydos seemed at a loss for words.
2. Phil Mickelson. Will someone please tell Lefty the 2010 season has begun?
3. Rory’s back. Maybe this is just a little tweak that will soon be forgotten. But back woes are the game’s biggest red flag, especially for a young, supple prodigy like McIlroy. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery.
4. Pebble’s 14th green. One guy makes a 9, he’s a chop. Three guys do it and something’s not right. There’s nowhere to miss on this tiny target, but thankfully the USGA’s Mike Davis is already coming up with some tweaks to avoid an Open folly.
5. Idiotic Tiger rumors. Yeah, sure, we really believed he was going to come back for the Match Play Championship. Which is sponsored by the company that unceremoniously dumped him as a spokesman. And this is a guy who still holds grudges dating to his teens. We used to say stuff like this was too stupid to print. This rumor was too stupid for the Internet.

5 Keys For Your Success In Playing Golf.
1. Always use same swing pose every time you shift the ball from sand bunker.
Every time you have to shift the ball from the sand bunker, always use same swing pose, then adjust only the position of the ball, and also consider to adjust the weight of down swing whether it should be harder or lighter, in order to estimate the distance to the target. Unless you are in the really difficult situation such as the ball sinks into the sand , or in any circumstances that normal approaches could not be applied, then will use special techniques. Normally, the factor use to decide how deep the sand you should dig into is depends on individual experience in sand bunker shifting, but the basic approach is addressing openly , keep the putter floating a bit above the sand, then swing down to the same line where you are addressing. It is also useful to keep in mind that you should hit the ball on the left and slices from outside reach in and the power must come from the upper part of the body while your feet buried into the sand and do not be afraid to hit the sand.
2. Your swing must be smooth and continuous.
There are so many people who see a friend can drive far more than oneself , then try to follow his approach by trying to use as much power as they can , as a result , they won’t be able to control the ball’s direction. The one of important thing for golfer is to maintain equilibrium between the body and the swing and keep it stable. Up swing with gentleness , not fast and jerk, then transfer the weight to right leg, when down swing, transfer the weight down to your hip while your eyes still watch at the ball , and hit the ball to the desired direction. The most important thing is you must maintain your position the speed of the swing at the same level every time.
3. When shifting…the head must be still.
One important cause that affect to the changing direction of the ball is tottering head when shifting , which will change the balance of your body. Therefore, to do effective shifting you must keep your head still and stable throughout the process. the basic approach when doing shift is stand open, lay the ball close to the right leg, maintain the weight to the left leg, hold the grip in short figure and do the stroke like when you are putting. About which size of putter should be used is really depends on individual experience and expertise. You should get much training enough to decide which size of putter suit you the most.
4. When up swing, make sure that your left shoulder aligned with the right foot.
Address in correct posture when up swing will bring the most effective and powerful to the hit. You must always remember that when up swing turn left shoulder to align with the right leg. This pose will draw the power from muscles between the shoulder and the waist while full speed of the swing being generated. The enough and proper training will develop you swing very quickly.
5. Find the focal point where the putter hit the ball.
The technique that many pros use to find the proper focus to hit the ball is to keep putter a bit away from the ball and leave the small gap between the ball and the putter. This gap will allow you to know where the putter will hit the ball, as a result, you can decide the right focus.

Basic Chip Shot Golf Tips
It’s a short low running approach golf shot with overspin or bite used in approaching the green. Other terms used for chipping are:
Chip In – When your ball rolls into the cup after chipping, you hole out with a chip shot.
Chip-and-run – A chip shot intended to run the ball after landing.
Chili-dip – A mishit chip shot, the clubhead hitting the ground well before it hits the ball.
If you wonder: when chipping? The answer is: in every situation within a few yards of the green.
Chip Shot Golf Sequence

Basic Chip Shot Golf Tips
This step by step chip shot checklist will help to drill and improve your chip shot techniques.
1. Take a 6-, 7-, 8- or 9-iron or pitching wedge.
2. Use your normal grip for this chip shot.
3. Address the ball with a narrow stance. The ball placed more towards back foot.
4. Open your feet and shoulders a little bit, not too wide.
5. Lean your body a bit to the left of the pin.
6. Keep your shoulders and your wrists firm, like you should hit with a putter.
7. Hands ahead of the ball, inside your left thigh. Your left hand has to block the vision of your left knee. Right hand for lefthanded golfers.
8. Lean your weight to your front foot.
9. Aim the face of your lady golf club towards the target.
10. Make a slow tempo swing with your arms and shoulders. Like you want to put. Your arms and shoulders move like a pendulum clock.
11. Touch the ground – before you chip the ball. Crisps the grass. Accelerate through the ball and hit it off the toe of the club. Keep your hand ahead of the ball at impact.
12. The follow through of a chip shot should have the same length as your back swing, as mentioned before, like a pendulum clock. A short back swing causes short distance chipping, a long one a longer traject.
13. The golf club lifts the ball up in the air. Practice a lot, and you can make a perfect chip shot on the fairway within a reasonable distance to the pin.
14. And: Don’t look up to early! I think that’s my most important tip for chip shot golf.
